Watch This Space: Sekhukhune Speaks

Hello!

BRIDGE, in partnership with JET and CIE, is currently working on a project that hopes to effect real and long lasting positive change in the education outcomes of 10 public schools in Sekhukhune, Limpopo. The primary purpose of the Anglo American Rural Schools’ Project is to implement a three year school strengthening intervention that addresses the following key issues:

  • Strategic and leadership development for principals
  • Governance and administration
  • Psychosocial support
  • Teacher development
  • Engagement with stakeholders

BRIDGE has been tasked to work in the area of leadership development and is currently engaging with 10 principals from Sekhukhune to encourage the sharing of working practice, the maximisation of resources, the reduction of duplication and the development of common purpose and peer support amongst the project’s participants.

Over the next few months, BRIDGE will publish various stories as they emerge from the project in a series titled “Sekhukhune Speaks”. The first of these stories, which will detail a Sekhukhune principal’s inspirational experience, is due for publication this June so be sure to watch this space!
